Welcome Jaxon!

On Friday I had the privilege of documenting the birth of little Jaxon. What a dear, sweet time and a precious baby! We are thrilled for his parents, Heather and Rick, and know that their family will be forever blessed with his presence in their lives. I am posting a few pictures here, but am keeping most of them private for the family. Tomorrow I will be shooting Jaxon's first portraits in his home and will post more of those later in the week! Congratulations to the whole family!

This week, as I realized that it is quite likely for me to have many clients with babies, I decided to offer a baby plan, which is called the First Year program. As a mom of a baby myself, I was reminded how frequently we like to document that first year. So, I am offering 2 options for new parents to choose from that will allow me to have 4 sessions with their little one during that first year. Working, working, working...

If you've ever started a business of your own, you know how much work it is to get it going! It seems that there is always something to be done. This month I have started up my website, had my logo done, designed business cards and worked on promotional pieces. I'm currently working to offer a "Baby's First Year" and will have those prices up within the next few days.
I am really looking forward to my first child birthing session coming up here in the next few weeks and will post a few very tasteful shots from that once it's done. So, back to work I go, as I still have plenty to do! :)

Welcome to my first official blog for Kiralisa Photography! For those of you who are wondering, my name is Lisa Thomas and I am the owner/photographer. Who is Kira? Well, that's me as well. When my husband and I lived in Russia (yes, you read that right, we lived in Russia) I went by the name Kira, as Lisa spelled in Russian is the word for fox. And, since I didn't want to go around being called a fox all day, I chose another name. I love the name Kira and will answer by it as easily as Lisa. When it came time to name my business, it was an easy jump to Kiralisa Photography to give me a little something different.
